v    These grade sheets should be kept in your binder and will allow you to be able to keep track of your average.

v    It will be your responsibility to keep a record of your grades. I will not give out student grades any time during the nine weeks except for on progress reports.

v    Parents wishing to know their child’s grades should encourage their child to consistently keep a record of all graded papers.

Homework Grades:

v    I will be checking every day to see if the assigned homework has been completed.

v    Occasionally I will take up homework for a grade to ensure that each student is completing the assignments.

v    It is very important for every student to learn responsibility and accountability.

v    My goal is to help each student learn how to be responsible for recording homework in your daily planners, completing your homework, and bringing it back to school on the day it is due.

Daily Planner:

v    All homework assignments will be written on the teacher

daily planner which is located on the wall at the front of

the room. It is the students’ responsibility to record all

assignments in your daily planner daily.

Students will be given at least one weeks notice for any tests to allow them adequate time to study. I highly encourage reading through the science and social studies notes every night. There is much material to be covered and this will help you retain the information and be better prepared for tests.

Medicine:

v    All medication should be brought in its original container.

v    It must be inside a zip lock bag with a note, which should include the student’s name, medication dosage to be given, date, and parent signature.

It is my intension to prepare each student for the challenges they will face in middle school and encourage them to become independent and self motivated. I hope to help make the transition from elementary school to middle school a positive experience. I have high expectations for the students in my class, because I believe it is necessary in order for them to excel in middle school. The more each student is encouraged to be independent, the greater success they will have. If there are ever any questions or concerns regarding your child’s progress, please let me know. You may call, email, or schedule a conference anytime after school.
